Kenneth Hall, O.D.

Dr. Kenneth Hall established Drs. Hall & Chu Optometry in 1977. He received a Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor of Optometry degree at UC Berkeley. Dr. Hall  is a member of the Contact Lens and Sports Vision Section of American Optometric Association. He has severed on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Optometric Society and is a current member of the UC Berkeley Alumni Association and Bear Backers.

Dr. Hall was born and raised in San Francisco. He resides in the East Bay with his wife and daughter. Dr. Hall enjoys tennis and is a big fan of the Cal Bears Football and Basketball teams.  Go Bears!

Cindy Szeto, O.D.

After working as a file clerk for Drs. Hall and Chu throughout her years at Lowell High School, Dr. Cindy Szeto proudly joined the practice as a doctor upon graduating from Optometry School in 1997.

She is an alum of UC Davis, where she earned her bachelor degree in Biological Science. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at UC Berkeley. She trained extensively at VA hospitals in San Francisco and Livermore, as well as at a multispecialty ophthalmology practice in Baltimore, MD.

A San Francisco native who now resides in San Mateo, she spends much of her time cheering on her son from the Little League bleachers, while her fearless daughter is the only girl on a brutal 4 year old Wiffleball team.  Dr. Szeto is married to a die-hard islander from Hawaii, and loves to explore the Bay Area's incredible foodie scene.

Tram Vu, O.D.

Dr. Tram Vu completed her Bachelor of Science degree at UC Davis. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2003. Her professional internships included multidisciplinary training at VA Palo Alto, Las Vegas Low Vision Clinic, and Eye Care Clinic in East LA. She practices Primary Care Optometry with emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and disorders.

Dr. Vu grew up in the South Bay. As the youngest of eight siblings, she enjoys spending her free time with her extensive family.

Maria Ha, O.D.

Dr. Maria Ha is a product of San Francisco public schools before studying Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California, Berkeley.  In 2001, she completed her Doctor of Optometry training at UC Berkeley School of Optometry with internships at Beijing Medical University, St. Louis LASIK and Cataract Center, and the Vision Source in Oklahoma.  She enjoys practicing primary care optometry which includes prescribing contact lenses and glasses, treatment and detection of eye diseases, and co-management of LASIK and cataract surgeries.

Dr. Ha is a San Francisco native and remains active in the local community. She is multilingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Vietnamese.  In her free time, she loves exploring the Bay Area food and wine scene.  She cherishes her time with her two young nephews and the family doggies; Josie, Barnabus, & Oski.

Matthew Barnes, O.D.

Dr. Matthew Barnes is a graduate of UC Davis with a B.S. in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior and of the New England School of Optometry with a Doctorate of Optometry. He completed training at V.A. hospitals in Connecticut, Roslindale Community Health Center in Massachusetts, and at a group practice in Beverly Hills.  He has completed extensive research in eye development for which he received the Beta Sigma Kappa research grant.  He practices with patients of all ages. 


Dr. Barnes grew up in San Diego and now lives in San Francisco where he enjoys hiking, cooking, and gardening with his wife and dog.
